Hidden Room

Hitchcock’s cinematic narrative is the inspiration for this project. The viewer/user experiences a series of conflicts and plot twists that culminate in full disclosure of the story. As such, this project explores the relationships between narrative structures in film and spatial sequencing in architecture. The user is led over and under the building, through each of the first four rooms, confronting “thicknesses” along the way. Thickness suggests the presence of another room and establishes a conflict that is resolved only at the end of the cinematic sequence.
