Artificial Extrusion

Taking the isotropic context of Los Angeles into consideration, the proj- ect responds to the omnipresence of its endless landscape. The pub- lic space is interiorize negating a direct contact with the exterior and in the living units the selected views are captured with different angles. The vertical predilection of the extruded floorplan is unified by the core where a continuous stair merges, with materiality and light, the socle and the culmination of the building.

The socle engages with the context creating a unified and porous ground floor and the tower continues the idea of the detached city with a frac- ture/broken volume where void and openings alternate in a process of abstraction suspended between the particular and the nonspecific.
