Choose Your Own Sleep

The design for this dormitory stems from a precedent study of Foucault's idea of “panopticon.” The resultant design proposes a spatial manifestation of the opposite of panopticon: Bruno Latour's “ogliopticon.” A helicoidal staircase expands to contain the entirety of the building's program. This staircase accommodates an highly differentiated circulation; habitable space extends from every single step.
