Perimeter Plan I

The initial reading of this project presents a residence hall for 270 students. By limiting the total square footage (in conjunction with a limited perimeter length to 960 feet), a relationship between the building's shape, the fenestration, and its interior organization emerges. The dormitory program allows for and demands the regularization of cellular elements along a building perimeter. This demand forces an understanding of the effects of specific organizational logistics, which in turn interpret and analyze the architecture at its many apparent scales.
