Hidden Room

Spatial hiddenness: Visual and logical exclusion of a space from one’s perception.

The project uses the double spiral ramp as the device to disorient and misguide. Combined with varied wall thickness, and facade treatment, they lead the user into constructing a false mental perception of the interior spaces (3 stories, 4 rooms facing each side). Following the ramp through a series of regular rooms, at the end of the journey, the user discovers the large hidden space and begins to understand the actual interior spatial arrangement.
